The "Mater Imperatrix" design was created after a profound encounter with Mary through the Schoenstatt Movement. This encounter of love inspired a strong desire for total surrender to Mary in order to totally surrender to Jesus.

Through her Immaculate Heart, the Mother Empress (Mater Imperatrix in Latin) teaches us to love in self-giving, in suffering, and in service, praying for us and leading us directly into the covenant of eternal love with her and Jesus.
